I am currently 4 weeks 6 days pregnant and had some brown blood when I went to the bathroom this morning, I called my Doctor and he told me it's very likely that it's the start of a miscarriage, but not to worry as I got pregnant first try, so will likely again.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has had similar things with a more positive outcome??

Brown blood is old blood, perhaps from implantation bleeding. If I saw that, I'd be scared but I wouldn't think it was over.

You're Dr was wrong to say that, it could be absolutely anything; implantation bleeding or cervical erosion amongst other things

All you can do really is wait it out. If you're very concerned you can ask for a referral to the EPAU

It is not a cert that you are miscarrying.

I bled brown and bright red blood right through of my pregnancies. It is so worrying and so scary.

I was scanned at 7 weeks in both pregnancies and both showed a heartbeat - it is hit and miss in the early weeks if a heartbeat can be detected.

All you can do is to take it easy, do rest when possible. I know they say it makes no difference but who knows.

I hope it turns out all ok for you.

Thanks, that's kind of what I was hoping my Dr would say, maybe he was just having a bad day. I had a Lletz procedure done 3 months ago, so hoping it is more to do with my cervix. But just freaked out a bit when the Doc said its probably a miscarriage. My EPU wont see me till I reach 6 weeks so i have just over a week to try and chill and hope for the best.
