hi, I have been prescribed Gentimicin for a Corneal Ulcer which I got through wearing contact lenses. Unfortunately this caused an allergic reaction and my eye is now very red. I have therefore been prescribed Predsol eye drops to reduce the redness. I am 27 weeks pregnant and concerned about the side effects this may cause to my unborn child. Is there anyone out there who has had a similar experience?

I would ask at the chemist before I use anything. The doc was aware you were pregnant wasnt he, when you were presribed it?

It's really important to treat your eyes. As long as the doctor knows you are pregnant, I shouldn't worry about the eye drops effecting your baby. Not much will get into your blood stream anyway. If you leave your eye untreated you are likely to get more serious problems that will result in stronger medication.
