Can you still have a regular period and be pregnant?

Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum, so please move my post if i'm in the wrong place!
I'm 23, living with my long term boyfriend. We've not used contraception for years now and I think i may be pregnant. Although at this stage i haven't taken a test (it would be very early if i was, I'm useless at tracking these things!)
For the past week, I've been horrendously bloated, gassy & had really bad heartburn (which I've never, ever suffered from before). I've also been back and forwards to the doctors with major fatigue and a heavy chest (and breathing problems, but that's a different story!) All signs point towards being pregnant, but i've just had a pretty normal period (again, useless at tracking these things so can't be sure). Could i still be pregnant even with the period? I'd normally de bloat as soon as I came on, but belly's still bloated, i'm still windy & still have horrific heartburn. Obviously a pregnancy test will be the best answer, but i wanted to know if anyone else had had a similar experience?!

Thanks xx

Yes it is possible so you will need to test

I've done a test which has come back negative. However I've still got all the above symptoms and my nipples have since become dry and flakey, could I have taken the test too early?

Yes try and test again- I thought I had a period... 30 weeks gone now. My mum had 2 'periods' when she was pregnant before she realised!
