So bloated :(

I'm 6 weeks but already I'm so bloated. Will it ever die down?

Last week I was nearly doubled over with stomach/uterus cramps, then really bad indigestion, trapped wind etc. I also appear to be bloating all over.

I made the mistake of getting on the scales tonight and after losing several pounds the first few weeks due to no appetite I appear to have gained 10lbs!!! I don't think I've actually gained this, maybe it's just fluid retention etc? I certainly haven't been overeating

I feel gross, nothing fits and generally meh.

What could I do to reduce this?
I do have a tendency anyway to bloat before my period, in the heat, etc.
currently chugging water and saw that Epsom salts can still be used while pg so will be getting some of them as they've helped me before. Also I have a few food intolerances but can usually manage small amounts of the problem foods, perhaps I've become more sensitive.

I'm marking my place as I'm 6 weeks on Monday and have a huge tummy! My jeans are way too tight :(

I'm the same, nearly 8 weeks and I look pregnant already! Really hard when your trying to keep it a secret! X

My early pregnancy got better after I started taking Rennies. Also - not eating too much, working out if certain foods make you bloat more than others, and being patient : ( rubbish but it does go away!

I was always sensitive to wheat but could have small amounts (a roll for lunch etc) as long as I was sensible. Now I'm pregnant I can't have any without being badly bloated and having a lot of pain. I feel so much better for cutting it out completely so if you were also aware of sensitivities pre pregnancy, I'd try cutting those out first to see if that helps. Hope you feel better soon

Oh me too... 8+6 and look like I'm about to give birth!!! Well almost.

Was craving beans tonight... My tummy now feels like a water bed... None of my clothes fit... I had to buy two new bras as I'm popping out of my normal ones... Aaaahhhh.

Bizarrely, despite feeling like a hephalump I haven't actually gained any wait yet... But I'm trying to keep if the scales so maybe I'm actually going up and down with the size of my tummy.

I'm assured this will stop... But when???

I can sympathise, I was really bloated until around 12 weeks and considered buying maternity wear around 10 weeks as it got that bad, though held off on that. The fact I have a very high fibre diet probably didn't help. At 14 weeks it is so much better and my ususal clothes feel comfortable once again. Hopefully yours will settle down before too long.

The bloating was the worst bit of pregnancy so far for me. I have a photo I took looking down at myself, and have a bigger 'bump' at 8 weeks than I do now at 28 weeks!

It does go. Around 10-11 weeks things calmed down... and just turned into horrendous constipation. Still better than the pain of wind though.

Try lying on your left hand side, massage your stomach, don't eat beans or pulses (or in my case, bread).

I can really recommend rennie deflatine for temporary relief. It won't treat the causes of bloating but it helped me feel so much more comfortable when I was so constipated and bloated. I literally felt like it deflated me!

In addition to trying to eat lots of fibre I found that drinking cups of plain hot water helped to resolve the constipation.

Hope you're feeling better soon Peppermint.

I got some deflatine yesterday and they seem to be deflating me Wink and definitely think pregnancy is making my food intolerances worse as pain seems to come after bread etc (I could eat a small amount a day before).

It doesn't help that my boobs have inflated too so I am feeling rather rotund!
