34wks, been told for a few weeks that baby on small side and now told babys head is a little small for her size. I know theres lots of strong opinions im inviting but i do still smoke quite heavily.. if poss reserve judgement and let me know if anyone had same thing or knows about it... i cant stop worrying that it could be really serious

How do they know your baby is small?? Have you had a scan? I have read on here that people have had a growth scan to be told the baby is on the small side or a bit on the big side and the scans have been wrong.

How many do you smoke?
Low birth weight is a factor with smoking as you should know.

in the booklet they give you there is a growth chart that they plot the results of scans on. abdominal measurement shows baby is small but growing at decent rate... head measurement is very visibly below where it should be.. they say that measurements are sometimes hard to get but she didnt seem to struggle.

Go into town tomorrow and buy the Allen Carr "The Only Way to Give Up Smoking" book. It should cost you no more than 2 days worth of cigarettes.
It is never too late to make a difference, and I wish you all the best in your efforts.

Growth scans are notoriously innaccurate. At 36 weeks I was told that dd was off the charts for abdomen size, with a large head and short legs. She turned out to be long and slim with an average-sized head.
