early scan advise needed

Hey,

really hoping someone on here might be able to share their experiences! I had a scan last week at around 6-7 weeks (due to some bleeding) which showed a gestation sac of 4mm and nothing else! Had another scan today a week later and it showed a gestation sac of 8mm but nothing else- hormone levels are still high & still feel v pregnant! They want to leave it another week and scan again but was told it was likely I'd had a missed miscarriage! Has anyone ever experienced the same or had a positive outcome? Dont want to get my hopes up but equally dont want to give up on this baby if there's still a chance! Thank you

I had this happen to me last year. Unfortunately this happened to me and I didn't have a good outcome. I think it's called a blighted ovum but basically the egg implants but doesn't develop properly. Could your dates be wrong? How many weeks are you now?

On the plus side I'm now pregnant again and going in for an early scan tommorow at 7 weeks so really hoping that everything is ok this time. I've researched it and it's unlucky, it's just bad luck.

I don't want to look on negative side but I know I really got my hopes up in between scans and it just made it harder. You obviously could have a much more positive outcome but it's good to prepared.

Hey, really hope tomorrow goes well for you! I had 2 mc before my little boy but bleed so have never been through this before! Had positive test 4 weeks ago so guessing around 8 weeks- periods v random so cant really use my last one to work it out! I know that there's probably not much chance it will work out okay :-(

There might be a chance if your not sure of your dates. I knew I couldn't have been out with the dates because we had fertility treatment, the same as the scan tommorow. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you, it's a horrible wait isn't it?! X

Ps I didn't start bleeding until abit 9.5 weeks, but my pregnancy symptoms did start happening less and less from about 6.5 weeks-not sure if that helps x

Thank you- its so hard to know what's happening or how to feel! The midwife seemed surprised this morning that i was going straight back to work but to be honest work is a great distration! Would be really amazing if your scan goes well tomorrow! Tough to go through all this... fingers crossed x
