Had dating scan and no amniotic sac?!

Hey everyone,

I'm slightly confused! I had a dating scan at 6 weeks 3 days, the pregnancy was viable with a healthy HB of 128. On the paperwork I noticed it said no amniotic sac was visible? What does this mean? I'm 7 weeks now..when will it show up on a scan? xx

I didn't want to read and run, but have no helpful answer for you - bumping you until the right person comes along

If the sonographer/doctor didn't mention it to you as a concern then it probably just means that it wasn't seen - not that it's not there. The baby is incredibly tiny at this point and if the machine was a bit old or inaccurate then it would be easy to miss it.

Off topic but I had an scan to check my ovaries and they couldn't find one of them - it's definitely there but it was hiding on the day!
