Clear blue fertility monitor - any reviews?

All the reviews I see on Amazon/Boots etc say how fantastic this is, but is it true? I've not had much luck with IC ovulation sticks so would like to hear views on this before I part with any £££!

Also, what model is best to choose?

TIA!

I tried for 6 months using just sticks. The first month using the monitor I fell pregnant. I just bought a second hand one from eBay.

mssleepyhead · 30/06/2014 18:39

I used the CB digital sticks and got pregnant on my second month of trying. They're pretty foolproof, whereas the ICs seem to be more pot luck.

chundercatsarego · 30/06/2014 18:46

We've been trying 7 months, no luck. Used ICs for 3 months, only got a positive once and prwtty irregular 28-38 day cycles so thinking it might be worth it...

Really helped me, I was always a bit rubbish at interpreting the sticks, but I got pregnant using the monitor!

Lalalax3 · 30/06/2014 19:19

My husband and I took two months to get pregnant, the first month I didn't use anything, the second month I used the monitor - BOOM, pregnant!

So yeah, it gets bloody good reviews from me!

Aciderwouldbenice · 30/06/2014 19:26

We used it and fell pregnant first month, as did a friend who had been trying a year

seasavage · 30/06/2014 19:54

I didn't get pregnant until I STOPPED using it. ... I suspect i ov later than it thought.
But, you're welcome to mine? (only 10 sticks left).

chundercatsarego · 30/06/2014 19:54

Wow, sold! So hoping this works!

OK. If you message me an address. It's another bit of clutter gone :-)

chundercatsarego · 30/06/2014 20:03

Oh bugger, wish I'd seen your message, just spent 55 quid on one Angry

Any tips on the cheapest place to get the sticks?

OP posts:
seasavage · 30/06/2014 20:05

Oh pain! I got mine from the evil that is Amazon

Bohemond · 30/06/2014 20:07

I second all the recommendations.
I bought my sticks on amazon or from boots - didn't find anywhere particularly cheap. I'd advise buying packs of 20 for the first two cycles as you will need to test more often and you are supposed to use the same box. Then keep the spares in the box for later cycles when you may need fewer than 10 - assuming you have not yet got a BFP.
Good luck

chundercatsarego · 30/06/2014 20:10

Thanks, I'm quite excited now Grin do I have to test everyday in the first cycle?

I got pregnant when we stopped using it and moved to IC sticks and a bit of SMEP and the fertility friend app. The sticks were expensive for the CBFM.

chundercatsarego · 30/06/2014 20:21

Yeah-we've tried ICs and SMEP-no luck!

It's enough to drive you crazy, isn't it. I also picked up some tips from MN on putting a cushion under my bum and doing 20 min of cycling my legs after DTD. And I will never know if it was just coincidence, or those really work.

chundercatsarego · 30/06/2014 20:59

Yes it is driving me a bit nuts! I think the monitor will helo me feel more in control and less stressed which will hopefully help! Ive done the cushions under bum and cycled for a minute or two- 20 mins is aaaagess Shock

Lalalax3 · 30/06/2014 21:05

The cushions/cycling thing is nonsense. I have problems with UTIs so have to shower more or less straight after sex. I did this on the night we conceived, swimmers stayed swimmin'!

Look up Preseed, I used that during the week I conceived. It's quite handy actually, because sometimes the romance can go out of shagging all the time when you're trying to get preggo - as I'm sure you know!

chundercatsarego · 30/06/2014 21:37

I've tried conceive plus but not preseed, will take a look at that. Thanks

Hi chunder. I used the basic model and got my BFP on my first cycle! I'm now nearly 7 weeks pregnant. My sister did on her DD also. Best of luck with it! Grin

Alita7 · 30/06/2014 22:44

I also conceived the first month I used preseed in my 6th month of trying! So I seriously recommend it!

alarox · 01/07/2014 09:12

Another recommendation here! After 3 years of TTC no.1, I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago after using CBFM and Preseed for the 1st time Grin For the record, none of the supermarket ovulation sticks worked for me, plus CBFM revealed I ovulated later than 'the usual'. Although my GP did tell me off a bit for trying to identify my fertile window and said to just do it every other day and it should happen eventually. Good luck with whatever you try!

daheedsgirl · 01/07/2014 09:15

I got pregnant the first cycle of using after trying for 11 months x
