Goods news about eating Tuna while PG!

Just been on the Food standard Agency website. (www.foodstandards.gov.uk) and seen that they have relaxed the advice on the amount of Tuna you can eat while PG. You can now eat two steaks and 4 medium size cans. Just thought i would pass that on.

By the way no replies to my earlier post about my Rosacea outbreak which is now throbbing and horribly unsightly and depressing.

If anyone feels like giving any advice or alternative remedies (that are safe while PG) please feel free - unfortunately i cant seem to see the bit about how to post links but I sent it today so should be easy to find.

Tallgirl, re rosacea. what you need is IPL treatment - that's intense pulsed light treatment. It does work and is permanent. It is expensive though, and it does hurt a bit. There is no reason why you couldn't have it while pg but I would check with the dr. I would recommend a doctor called Dr Hilary Allen who specialises in IPL treatments. IPL is similar to laser treatment but uses light waves. It stings a bit but is far from unbearable - I've tried it and am currently having it to permanently remove hair from my bikini line (!).

Hi Aloha

Thanks for these details which a friend forwarded to me - i have been having a horrible time with my skin for the last few months. Started like Rosacea and seemed to turn to horribly skin infection (really red, sore and lots of pustules). Being PG limited what i could take and the second type of antibiotics (Erythromycin) has worked a bit but still red and very concentrated in two areas. Persuaded Drs to refer me to dermatologist but not able to get appointment until 28th May but will ask about this treatment. The dermatologist i saw last year (who helpfull suggested Roaccutane although i had mentioned that might be trying to get PG soon so that was useful!) did mention the laser treatment which didnt really appeal - this sounds slightly better. Will keep you posted.

Thanks
