Feeling baby

I have just this week started to feel kicking especially when listening to Chill FM!
I am 19 weeks. When is it likely DH will be able to feel it externally? I feel for him, I keep saying "Baby's kicking again!" and when he tries to feel he can't :-( secretly smug!
Do you remember when your OHs started to feel?
Many thanks

It took a few weeks after I started feeling him kick till my oh could feel him.
He felt a little left out too when I was all excited feeling it, but he can now Smile

Even now, if I tell my OH that our baby is kicking he usually goes quiet as soon as he touches my tummy and i'm now 37+2.

Think he first felt movement about 21/22 weeks

I felt first movements around 16/17 weeks. DH got first feel at 20w exactly. Now 23+3 and he's only got another 2 or 3 wee movements since, once right in his ear as he'd nodded off on my lap.

Im not convinced when hubby first started to say he could feel the baby, that he wasnt just pacifying me lol. I felt my first movements around 16 weeks and think hubby felt them not long afterwards. Not hubby regularly gets kicked in the back when I snuggle into him at night but as PP said, when hubby puts his hand on my tummy sometimes, the baby just goes quiet. Hubby reckons the baby knows who's boss! Pffft! Hubby has also felt some really strong movements too where he's gone "bloodyhell!" when the baby has shot from one side of my bump to the other.

Im convinced that we are having a girl and she will be a daddys girls as she could be kicking the hell out of me and as soon as she feels daddys hand she calms down!! It wasnt until about 28 weeks that he regularly felt movements(only 1 or 2 ever before that) but then I felt no regular movements until around 23/24 weeks.

I had this issue were as the baby would move and when I called my partner she would stop kicking. She seemed more active when I was trying to sleep every night so I would basically spoon my partner with my belly pressed to his back and relax to sleep and as if on que she would shuffle about and kick like mad, as he could feel everything like this it's our favourite position now because he can see how active and strong she is

I was about 17ish weeks when the little popping feeling started but DH didn't feel anything til they started to be more like kicks at 21/22 weeks. If he feels something now he's all "aw Daddy's Girl saying hello" we are convinced it's a girl. But if there's nothing he says "must be Daddy's soothing hand" haha! It is lovely to see his face light up when he feels the baby, I think he felt a bit left out and like it wasn't real before.

Ok thanks people. We had a check up scan today so at least he got to see Baby jumping around. Still can't believe it on some still days, I'm hardly showing and it's funny to think there's a human in there! Looking forward to having a bigger bump (I know, I shouldn't!)
Thanks

I'm 16+2 and I've felt a few flutters like a couple of days ago just after I sneezed. But literally just as I was reading this thread I felt a long string of wriggles for the first time! Thank you Mumsnet :)

Heatherbell1978 · 30/06/2014 19:56

It won't be long I wouldn't have thought. My baby can be doing somersaults with feet sticking out of my belly and stops the minute I call my DH over to feel so he hasn't experienced as much of the movement as I was hoping! I'm sure my baby has a sense of humour already......:-)

Buffy81 · 01/07/2014 13:57

same with me. am 33+1 and hubby has not had much contact with bump. whenever i say that someone is having a party, all of a sudden, stops and wont start again. feel sorry for him as he is not being able to experience what i am. i try and look at the bump moving as well, but i swear as soon as i look, bump stops and baby is saying i know you are wacthing so i am going top stop now

splendide · 01/07/2014 15:19

I could feel him from about 18 weeks I think. Husband felt him at 23 but only a couple of times. I'm only 24 now.

ImBrian · 01/07/2014 19:29

I started feeling this one (number 5) at 16 weeks, dp saw my stomach moving at 17 weeks and felt it kicking at 18 weeks. My first was much later first movements/tummy moving at 20 weeks and dp didn't feel movement till anout 24.
