On target or 90th centile?!

So my measurements have been as follows:

24+4 - 23.5cm
27+3 - 27.5cm
31+3 - 31.5cm
33+5 - 33cm

Following the cm for each week, I'm non target. But if I were to plot on my customised chart (mw hasnt as she has no concerns) I have the following:

24+4 - 10th centile
27+3 - quite a way over 90th centile
31+3 - quite a way over 90th centile
33+5 - pretty much spot on 90th centile.

I dont really understand what the centiles mean but what I do understand is the 10th is below average, 50th is average and 90th is above average.

Can anyone help?

I am 5ft, white british, aged 27 and pre pregnancy weight was 9 st 2.

What is a customised chart? Customised to what?
This is about fundal height right? I think a rough rule of thumb is number of weeks = number of cm +/- 2. Your midwife seems sensible here.

At 28 weeks I was 5 weeks ahead by scan.
At 30weeks I was 6 weeks ahead by fundal height.

Ditto what callamia said!

Customised growth chart is a chart like a graph which has gestion in weeks, fundal height and baby weight (weight is only recorded if scanned I think).

Underneath the mw records bp, fundal height, lie etc

I have one and it makes no sense at all it seems to suggest that as im tall I must have a massive baby which I wont be having.
Try not to place to much trust in the chart and enjoy your pregnancy.

mrsnlw if I follow the 50th centile on my chart my baby will be 10lb 2 according to my chart! no way will she get that big my last two were in the 7`s. I have no idea how that come up with these charts?

mrsnlw · 28/06/2014 22:29

No clue! Seems they are at odds to the cm a week rule? If I was measuring vastly one way or the other which corresponded with the centiles then fine but im measuring spot on. Silly thing!

No idea, but I have measured bang on dates three times and delivered at the same gestation and my babies have varied by over a pound.
