can preeclampsia suddenly develop?

long winded post:
im 38wks pregnant. have had a pretty normal pregnancy apart from few bleeds throughout. urine has always been fine & blood pressure normal.
had midwife on mon & all was fine although she took bloods for OC as i have a spotty belly (which i have had the whole time) - no results as yet. im in my late 20's if it makes a difference.
have lost my appetite the last few days & bowels moving twice a day (usually once every other day). finding it hard to sleep at night & heartburn has come back with a bang! its worse when i try to lie down. really sore head today & felt really nausous, struggled to eat even half a small dinner. lower right ribs are killing me, not sure if baby is wedged/kicking there to cause the pain.
so anyway, my question is; should i be worried? could it be preeclampsia or just general late pregnancy feeling unwell?

Yes, preeclampsia can suddenly develop. A headache can be a symptom, as can flashing or "floaters" in your field of vision. If you're worried at all then speak to your midwife and get your bp checked.

Yes it can. With my eldest in 2008 I saw a gp for something pregnancy unrelated at 32 weeks on the Monday. Blood pressure was normal. Saw my midwife that Thursday and my BP was through the roof and my DS was delivered 19 hours later. As all was well at GP on the Monday we had no idea I was going to be poorly that Thursday. You should always speak to your midwife if you are worried, better to get checked.

But the bowels thing is your body getting ready for labour.
