www.mysupermarket.co.uk/sainsburys-price-comparison/Medicine/Sainsburys_Indigestion_Relief_Tablets_12.html

are £1.20 a packet and are essentially the same as Zantac. Work wonders for me.

I woke up about 6 am having not eaten anything, and had such a big burning sensation that I went to the loo and puked up a small amount of very burny acid :(

So I sympathise and haven't yet got anything to sort it, I will grab some ranitidine tomorrow. I've just been drinking milk which is a bit of a relief I really need something more.

Also I've just thought, I'm a student nurse and a nurse I'm working with atm recommended bicarbonate of soda dissolved in water to ease the pain of a uti... that would probably help with heart burn too!

I've heard milk can make it worse? Not sure how true that is.
I find it a bit of a relief to sort of force it up while burping. Not nice but it moves it from the chest area to the throat area where it hurts less.

Lay off pastry and tomatoes! Lay off onions aswell. Lettuce is supposedly good to eat with heartburn.

I ended up downing gaviscon straight from the bottle last time round- got some interesting looks on the commuter train!

A prescription for Omeprazole was pretty much life changing. Wish I had done it earlier as I was so miserable with heartburn and unable to sleep or eat anything as a result
