Yes, your digestion slows down in order for your body to have time to get the most nutrients out of the food you eat. That makes you really bloated. It's also why you can gain weight more easily despite not eating any more. I'm only 6 weeks with my second and I look about 5 months already!

Congratulations!

Yes it is normal but so annoying! My tummy is so swollen and bloated I look 4 months pregnant! (am only 9 weeks).
Take care x

Hi, just thought i'd let you know, i'm 29+5 with no.1 and i bloated so badly early on, it was a struggle to hide my belly from about 4 weeks, it soon turns to a bump tho.

The constipation and wind, my god, i've always suffered with constipation, pre preg record was 6 days with no movement. Doc's gave me lactulose which worked a bit, i've started eating all bran cereal (previously mainly stuck to oat/corn sorts, crunchy nut clusters) and i've been having an activia yogurt everyday and i've never been so regular and non straining.
