I dont think babies head ever engaged for me. I had to have a scan at 36 weeks as they were worried she could be breech as they couldnt feel the head but it turned out that the head was just very very low. I was never told head was engaged at any of my midwife apps though it was always noted as free and my bump never dropped either.

7 weeks, my mw was a bit shocked I was engaged at 33 weeks. Felt low but wasn't uncomfortable ubtil ladt 4 weeks where he got a bit heavier and it became painful.

Grin Ha! I was expecting a thread about having a baby after getting engaged, engaged to be married Confused

I'd love to know this too. I'm almost 39 weeks and fully engaged. It hurts!

PenguinsHatchedAnEgg · 25/06/2014 16:49

Around six weeks. Not fully, but about 3/5ths engaged. MW was convinced I would be early. I wasn't....

JuniperTisane · 25/06/2014 16:49

DS1 a week or two. DS2 was in-out-in-out like a damn yoyo. One day he was 2/5 engaged, then free at brim, then back down 1/5, then up again. My bump was all over the place for a good 3 or 4 weeks. Did my head in.

When I went into labour he was still free.

Boudica1990 · 25/06/2014 16:50

I'm walking around engaged, have been for 2 weeks now. I'm 33weeks. People keep telling me this will mean he will come about 37ish Confused no too sure how they work that out!!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 25/06/2014 16:52

Never engaged before birth. Got to 4/5ths once, but she was back out again the following week, and then breech the week after. I have somersault babies.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 25/06/2014 16:54

About 3 years Grin. Sorry, flippant unhelpful answer there!

I was induced before we got to that stage each time unfortunately.

shamble · 25/06/2014 18:04

9 long, uncomfortable weeks.

Birgitz · 25/06/2014 18:14

6 weeks

allisgood1 · 25/06/2014 18:19

I was at least partly engaged very early (34 weeks?) with DD2. Had her via induction at 37.5

theborrower · 25/06/2014 19:32

Watching with interest! Was told yesterday that baby is now engaged (I'm 38+5 today) but I suppose there isn't much time left for me anyway...

This is my second. First baby didn't engage as she was (undiagnosed) breech. I've read that second babies tend to engage much closer to labour, but I don't know if that means much given my experience?

MyNameIsSuz · 25/06/2014 19:35

I wasn't at all, not until I was in labour, think that's why going into labour (on my due date, so not even early) was such a surprise!

duvetfan · 25/06/2014 19:35

Ds didn't engage until I went into labour. Pregnant with dc2, I don't expect anything different this time.

crazykat · 25/06/2014 19:48

Dd2 was 4/5 engaged at 31 weeks and she stayed there. It was really uncomfortable and she was two weeks late.
