Currently 38+2 weeks pregnant with my second baby and really struggling with the last couple of weeks.

Bit of background information. This is my second baby. Currently under a consultant as I have a bone condition (weak bones best sums it up). Was also recently diagnosed with arthritis in one of my knees. I'm also very petite (4ft11!)

Saw my midwife yesterday and whilst I was there I mentioned that I'm really struggling to walk and with simple tasks such as getting myself dressed from the ankles up Hmm. Have been in so much agony lately. Have also been measuring a couple of weeks ahead but yesterday midwife confirmed I'm measuring 41 weeks. My midwife didn't seem to take me seriously when I told her how much pain I am in. I am due to see my consultant on 1st July and she basically told me to wait until then to see if they would do anything for me. If they don't midwife wind sweep me until 9th July Confused. I really don't think I can hold on that long if the baby doesn't arrive.

I understand that's all women get fed up towards the last few weeks of pregnancy and the midwives hear it all the time but I can't help but think I'm not being taken seriously. Really struggling to keep up with my 3 year old and everything feels like hard work.

Is there anything else I could do or do I just have to take it on the chin?!

I feel your pain chuck! Not the same problems as you but mine are just as annoying and making life very hard :/ surely you can push for induction? I have been under consultant led care since 12wks and have seen them every two weeks since(highly irritating -.-) i dont understand why your midwife isnt helping you more, your clearly a special case! Just because most. Women. Cope with tons of conditions, but we are all different at the end of the dayand its not fair to make some of us suffer. Im 37wks today and have been suffering since 35. Ive had a nephrostomy tube fitted and i can only sleep on my left side mainly, i can on my back but not for long :( it doesnt help because its made my sciatica really bad, i have so much pain and pressure. In my whole pelvic region and im sick of feeling like an invalid! Im seeing my consultants this afnoon and im pushing for induction next week, theyve already told me they are not going to let me go past my due date but i cant cope anymore like you :( they are very understanding and have taken good care of me so im sure. They wont say no lol plus ive already had steroids so lil man will be fine :) my advice would be to see if you can see your consultants erlier, and show them just how much life has become difficult. They should help you more chuck, i feel for you :(

I get sick of people saying "if you think its bad wait till hes here blah blah blah..." But, i will be so much better! For one i wont be waking up every hour of the night to turn back and forth and with numb hips and aching knees! And two i will cope soooo much better with my tube in my back as i wont have a lump to lug around all day, and i will be able to walk around without feeling like im going to split in half after about 5mins!

Hope you get some help very soon and lil one out! Sorry for the long reply lol x

I know exactly what you mean. I am 35 weeks and in the last couple days have had total melt down and feel I can't go on. I also have to see consultant every two weeks. Today I have morning sickness again (lasted from 6 weeks to 31 weeks), my pelvis feels like it is straining and might crack in half, hayfever, yeast infection, herpes, piles, skin tags and I had a heart monitor from heart palpitations and fainting. I am absolutely sick to death of my body feeling like it is just going to give up soon. Then all the thoughtless people who tell me it will be worse when baby is here. Baby is measuring big and they are talking about scanning the baby if it still measures big next week. I am tiny - 48kg before pregnancy and I feel my body frame can't carry this anymore :-( It's awful so I know how you feel. I hope you get some relief soon and your midwives take more notice. I too have really been approached in terms of - oh well you won't die. X
