You are soooo pregnant. That is typical. Is this your first pregnancy?

Hulan · 07/09/2006 15:10

My first three months were awful between being extremely tired and puking and not sleeping during the night

Daisypops · 07/09/2006 15:32

I was like this too. This is my first pregnancy and I was shattered for the first 12 weeks & sometimes found it hard to sleep at night. The tiredness has improved slightly but I now wake up during the night for a wee and can't get up in the morning. I expect its something to do with hormones and excitement!

SKYTVADICT · 07/09/2006 15:37

Yes Nikie1 I have the same problem. I fell asleep for 1/2 hour before bed last night and when I got to bed I couldn't sleep for 2 hours! I was up once in the night for a wee then DD1 woke me later in the night to find a noise in her bedroom and then I couldn't get back to sleep. Eventually did but had to get up at 6.30 to get ready for work. This morning is the first sign of morning sickness feelings, couldn't eat breakfast etc. At work now but feel incredibly tired. Only 6 weeks and 1 day so a long way to go.

Hi nikie1, I was extremely tired in the first 3 months of pg too. I would come home from work at 3pm and sleep on the sofa til 6pm every day and then when I would go to bed I couldn't settle.

Try having a nice bath with lavender bubble bath, hot chocolate and try to chill. This worked for me. You should feel less sleepy once the first trimester is over (3-4m).
Take care

Yep.. me too... 6 weeks, could sleep forever during the day, go to bed and hey ho I'm awake. Agree with everyone else about bath and stuuf - the Johnsons bubble bath with lavender.. sleep easy is great. We were discussing sleep a few days ago, general opinion was that if you wake during the night, get up, empty your bladder, have a little walk around the house, have a warm milky drink, maybe read for 10 minutes and then go back to bed... its far better for you than lying there stresing about not being able to sleep

mumfor1standfinaltime · 07/09/2006 15:50

agree with geordiemacminx, I used to get up and clean and watch tv and generally do 'day time stuff' then sleep in the day!

Hulan · 07/09/2006 15:50

Hopefully this will pass soon enough and you can start enjoying your second trimester

nikie1 · 07/09/2006 19:57

Glad you are ok, I'm sure you are not going mad! Just pg! Take it easy and rest as much as you can x
