With dd I had no morning sickness, an occasional few minutes of feeling queasy. Talk about all pregnancies being different. I'm only sick once or twice a week now but when I throw , I throw {tmi, sorry} I wonder if it's to do with the heat, it's really hot here today.

I would say the heat makes it worse honey, I had nausea but when we had a heatwave it turned into full blown being sick, and it didnt stop! Im still sick once or twice a week now like you and its awful when it happens

Thanks, only 2.5 months to go, so hopefully the weather will cool down soon.

I'm sorry to say I was sick all the way through my pg with dd - right up to the labour. Not pleasant but I got used to it

anniediv · 07/09/2006 11:20

lucy5, I was sick right to the end (but had hyperemesis for 2 pregnancies) and unfortunately through labour as well I know it's horrible, but at least you can see an end to it. Lots of sympathy from me.

see here

Used to volunteer for these people, loads of good advice

Also had HG like Annie, but this site has lots of excellent advice for all levels of morning sickness and nausea

take care (and rest, rest is so important)

Thanks, definitely linked to the heat, it's 35 today and I feel blooming awful.

Look into your diet too - I found that I am intolerant to milk during pregnancy, and a build up gives me terrible sickness (only realised at the end of first pregnancy ) - I cut it out from the beginning of the second one and was sooo much better.

lucy5 · 07/09/2006 16:53

Oh thats interesting, thanks, i've been drinking a fair bit of milk because I have had terrible heartburn, almost from day 1. God I'm a moaner!

I had a huge headache just before sickness when I was on milk overload.

Elibean · 08/09/2006 20:34

Hi Lucy,

Just an extra thought about milk - apparently, it can soothe heartburn temporarily BUT once the milk starts getting digested it can make it worse. Because it breaks down into sugars, partly.

Any luck with the Zantac?

Thanks, haven't managed to find it yet. Will get dh to have a look in a different pharmacy in Gib.

Hi, this is my first pregnancy and I'm suffering from hyperemesis. I came out of hospital on saturday after 3 days on a drip which really really helped but already the sickness is back. Does anyone have experience of hyperemesis? How frequently did you end up in hospital and how long were your vomit-free breaks between visits? I'm getting depressed - it seems like it will never end and I've lost a stone and a half already

PeachyClairHasBadHair · 13/09/2006 17:48

If you sctroll down, you'll see a post from me with a link to the HG information website, they've closed the support bit now, but I was one (and I did the info telephone line for a bit) so pLease feel free to CAt me if you want a chat
