sorry about this but just gonna write it as it is:

just been to toilet for a poo, done the deed and was wiping when i noticed on tissue bright red blood that had stringy bits in (snot like). not loads but enough to cover a couple of sheets. i then wiped again and nothing from either place?!??!?!?? had a good clean and found no more.

What could it be? and were did it come from bum or twinkle?

any advice? sorry not a nice topic x

Pregnancy is one of those glorious times in life where our bodies just do their own thing isn't it!

Sounds like a show - how many weeks are you?

heavenis · 07/09/2006 10:40

Could you have piles ?

MINNIE1 · 07/09/2006 10:42

How many wks pregnant are you?

Also do you have any piles? Sorry if asking for TMI but the blood could have come from piles and the rest could be musus.
It also could be a show..

liquidclocks · 07/09/2006 10:43

hmm, that's a thought heavenis, suppose the mucus thing made me think show. Any pain while pooing mmmmchocolate?

mmmmchocolate · 07/09/2006 10:43

i am 34 + 6. it was loads of snot like blood and when i looked after nothing was there.

i though maybe piles but do they just bleed and stop and do they hurt?

can't believe i'm writing this:

the bloody muscus was proper blood not snot coloured and was only a small bit, rest was bright red fresh blood.

If you had piles you would know! I would say its a show.

leander · 07/09/2006 10:47

piles do hurt, sounds like a show to me.

mmmmchocolate · 07/09/2006 10:48

wouol there not still be blood up there. can all of come out, can it? i had a good rout (spelling) about.

I'd keep an eye on this. Small spots of blood on wiping were my first sign (dismissed at the time!) of an early labour at 33 weeks. I then had some cramping back-ache type pains over two days (again, dismissed by me as a new sort of backache!), followed by my waters a day or so later. All was happy outcome and gorgeous, if small, DD, but if I'd been more clued up earlier, they could have (a) stopped it I think, or (b) given her drugs to mature her lungs which might have meant less time in SCBU.

MINNIE1 · 07/09/2006 10:49

I would check this out if i were you as i had bleeding in early pregnancy and the doc said if you find bright red blood its a new bleed, It may not be anything to worry about but its better to be safe. I have piles from DD and they do hurt.

mmmmchocolate · 07/09/2006 10:52

piles, do they hurt all the time?

OP posts:
MINNIE1 · 07/09/2006 10:53

when doing a poo yip! i find they do. If you have piles you will feel a lump on your back passage.

liquidclocks · 07/09/2006 10:54

Agree mmmchocolate - you're still a bit too early to just disregard this as a show and I think you would know if it was piles- they're pretty uncomfortable. Give your delivery suite a ring and they'll probably just check that your not dilating or anything but if you are they can try and stop you from going any further for a week or two. A preterm labour isn't always painful btw so do get checked even if you're not feeling anything.

mmmmchocolate · 07/09/2006 10:57

i just find it weird it was only on the one wipe? and went back to wipe again and nothing. will go check again in min.

i bleed through my last pregnancy with dd but had none this time.

baby moving well. over did it a bit yesterday with cleaning. did whole house top to bottom maybe over done it too much??

No harm in ringing midwife, because you had no bleeding this time i would check it out.

liquidclocks · 07/09/2006 11:04

If it's not normal for this pg - check it out, the midwives won't mind, they get it all the time and it is their job!

1Baby1Bump · 07/09/2006 11:05

this is tmi:
when i was preg with ds i had some blood and found it was from my bum, not twink. i immediately panicked thinking it was.
it takes me ages to do a poo and the blood had come from my bum and sort of collected, waiting to drip as i took so long, then when i wiped i found it.
the snot bit sounds suspect though.
i would go and get checked.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 07/09/2006 11:06

i had this at 32 weeks with becky - i was on holiday, it was late at night and there was nothing i could do. I panicked, but as there was no more blood left it.

We left early the next day thinking i should get it checked, but as there was no further bleeding at all i just assumed it was one of those things. I carried Becky to 40+5.

If you are worried, get checked.
