Hey I'm new too this site and didn't really no what section to write in. My partner and I have been trying for a baby since October last year and I had a period in jan and didn't have another one until last night. However this isn't like a normal period for me it's very light but the pain is so severe mainly on my left side and been having a lot of back pain. It's coming to the point I think I'm going to be physically sick because of the pain. My friend has said she thinks I may be having an etopic pregnancy as we have been trying and I can't get comfortable in anyway! Can't sit down or stand up or even lie down. Any help would be brilliant I don't no what to think but the pain is so sore it's the worst pain I have ever had !

Bumping for you as have no advice but it doesn't sound good. Can you go to A&E?

Lynsey762 · 21/06/2014 17:25

I was going to ring up to A&E as I live right beside the hospital but I didn't want to go up and them just tell me it was period pains but it's the worst I've ever experienced

Have a look here for advice www.ectopic.org.uk/patients/symptoms-and-diagnosis/

There is a helpline too.

Have you done a pregnancy test? A&E might be a good idea.

randdom · 21/06/2014 17:28

Have you taken a pregnancy test? If it is positive then would recommend going in. If the test is negative you could consider the out of hours GP as another option. I would advice getting checked out if you are in lots of pain though.

Lynsey762 · 21/06/2014 17:39

I haven't take a pregnancy test now in a couple of weeks as was sure I was not pregnant every time I tested it was negative

Do you have one handy you can use?

UML · 21/06/2014 19:39

Please go and get yourself checked ... If it is ectopic things can get serious quickly... If not, at least you checked!

I meant at a & e...

Hi, I had an ectopic and tested negative for AGES. What I thought was my period came 8 days late. I only tested positive once I was in hospital ready to have my tube taken out. Not to scare you but this sounds a lot like what I experienced, so go to A&E asap!

Rang the out of hours doctors and waiting to go up they can't see me until twenty to one so hopefully I will get sorted
