I started doing crazy cleaning on the thursday and dd born early monday. Gets a million things done and its very therapuetic!

Gem13 · 06/09/2006 21:20

I didn't nest with number 1 and with number 2 because it was an elective c-section I kept putting everything off in case I didn't make it to the big day. I only packed my hospital bag the night before!

DH is hoping a nesting instinct kicks in this time as he would like a clean house! It'll be Christmas though so I think I probably settle down with the chocolates and the tv.

Am 38 wks today and have been cleaning for weeks! But I seemed to have an extra burst this morning. cleaned everything that didn't move downstairs and planning on doing upstairs this evening.

next day

emzickle · 07/09/2006 14:24

I sat and did a three foot high pile of ironing last night, DP came home and his responce was "holy shit, we cant afford to get a cleaner!"

thinking I had employed some little old lady or some thing... I obviously havent got a good track record for ironing then ... n/m

dh cleaned his keyboard at work earlier today and someone asked him if HE was nesting!!

eidsvold · 07/09/2006 22:27

never got it with either of mine - one born 10 days early, one 10 days late....

clemsterdarcy · 11/09/2006 21:44

Watch this space ... am 38+4 and this morning decided every window pane and pice of glass had to be cleaned, floors not mopped but scrubbed and finally at 8pm I embarked on emancipating the kitchen cupboards from stale biscuits, random teabags, chipped cups and all manner of unidentified non-flying objects. Hmmmm not sure if labour is imminent but at least I found a cellophane-wrapped jaffa cake bar that certainly eased my now-permanent back and pelvic pain!

Bring it on ... come on DELILAH D'ARCY ... we're ready for you ...

orangegiraffe · 11/09/2006 21:48

I think I nested quite early on in pregnancy, I was always nagging dh to finish jobs around the house. At 30 weeks I scrubbed house from top to bottom.

redz · 12/09/2006 14:46

I started cleaning last week, and I have such a sense of achievemant can sit back and look around and just think aaaahhh. I bought every cleaning product there was am in love with Cilit Bang! Threw away about 5 black bags of junk! Im 39+1 and I pray it means baby will be here any day now

clemsterdarcy · 17/09/2006 22:13

Well my cleaning frenzy last Monday did nothing! Today I alphabetized the CD and DVD collection ... too much time waiting!

Awww nesting! I started when I was about 30 weeks and it included a complete garden tidy - up! Slowed down about 3 weeks before ds was born.

WriggleJiggle · 18/09/2006 01:53

I think I nested and did loads of tidying and cleaning. Dp says he didn't notice .

The week before though I did loads of DIY - does this count?

LadyTophamHatt · 18/09/2006 07:42

24 weeks Pg with No4 and still awaiting for it to happen for my first born.

He's 7.5 yrs.

wabbitt · 18/09/2006 10:52

Oh yes! the diy frenzy - I sanded and re-stained the floor in my hallway, a job I'd been meaning to do for a year and a half. Of course I had to wait until I had a bump the size of a beach ball before getting round to it!
