This isn't a 'should I get it' thread before it turns into one of those endless arguments, don't bother I've had it! I wanted to know if anyone else had a really sore arm the day after, I just woke up and it's hurting like it's bruised but looks fine, also it's hot to the touch where it went in . I haven't had a vaccination in years and years and the Anti D didn't do this a few weeks ago. Is it normal? I'm not thinking it's harmful just wondered how sore it will get!

Yes! Had mine last week. Didn't hurt on day. Next day hot to touch and hard under skin. Like a big red bruise. Couldn't sleep on my left side! Was better a few days after and just a little red today. No pain though.

TeenageMutantNinjaTurtle · 21/06/2014 08:23

Yes totally normal! 3-4 days and it will be fine.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 21/06/2014 09:33

Yep, was really surprisingly painful the next day and could only sleep on my right for a few nights. Annoying when you're already denied back and front to sleep on!

RAFWife12 · 21/06/2014 10:05

Yep - totally normal! I woke up in the night after mine and my arm was killing me - wondered why, until I remembered I'd had the jab!
It should settle down over the next 48 hours, if it doesn't call the nurse or midwife who did it.

It's the tetanus bit that makes your arm hurt I think

stargirl1701 · 21/06/2014 10:16

Yes. Sore, red upper arm. Standard vaccine reaction for me.

kicksandgiggles · 21/06/2014 10:28

Yes, completely normal. I had mine on Thursday and my arm is still sore, similar to after other vaccines.

Scotmum83 · 21/06/2014 10:42

Yes sore arm and felt exhausted for a couple of days after too. I don't seem to react that well to jabs in general though.

Thanks everyone. For some reason I was surprised it hurt as the injection was nothing and it didn't hurt until I woke in the night lying on it and OW! I unfortunately fell over and heavily bruised my knees on Thursday, plus hip pain means I now have to think of ways to sleep in some kind of suspended position as I have no pain free surface on my body! Ooof this is getting to be a chore!

Totally sympathise. I had mine and thought my arm was going to fall off! I couldn't lift anything for a few days or sleep on my left hand side. Or my back. Or my front. Hope you feel better soon!

I got mine on Thursday and ow it really hurt yesterday, and not as tender today
