As it's a subject close to home, would you mind telling how were you diagnosed? And what led to them asking for tests? Thank you !

Observer For me it was because my dad has type2 diabetes so I was considered at risk of it. Mw scheduled a gtt at 28 weeks and the post glucose result was above 7.9.

Thank you, Jen! At the moment I'm having to do home tests 4 x a day, have so far had 3 or 4 high readings. However, I'm not sure how accurate they are as I'd measure 1hr after a meal and then (curiosity driven) two hours after a meal- with staggering results (1st high, 2nd on the low side of the "normal" range).
Did you have any symptoms at all? And what is your antenatal team suggesting you do now?

You might have reactive hypoglycemia. How low is it falling?

Either way, you need to avoid the highs. Keep a food diary so you can see what causes the highs. Try and keep the carbs to 45g or so at meals (30 at brbreakfast) and as whole grain and unprocessed as possible and make sure you eat the carbs with protein (and some fat as well). Also have 3 snacks a day with 15-30g carbs and protein.
