Only 19+3 but already my parters been avoiding my little bump! I'm sure it must be off putting seeing it, but how do you get around it? I did make a light hearted joke about it the other day and he just said it's weird.

Any advise? Thank you x

I find separate rooms help and a 20 mo dd Grin

amy83firsttimer · 18/06/2014 08:43

Well that's insensitive of him!

It's only getting bigger for the next 20 weeks and then you may not feel like it at all for a while so I'd sit him down for a chat
Working on the assumption that it's his child in your tummy then I'd hope he was happy that it was there.

Oh and reverse cowboy and spoons.

DitzyDonkey · 18/06/2014 08:43

I usually go on top or we do it from behind. Or sometimes we do reverse cowgirl Grin

I'm only 10 weeks now and dh pretends he wants to avoid missionary in case he leans on my belly but I know it's just an excuse to get me to do the positions he enjoys Grin

When I was pregnant with ds we use to still manage missionary up to the very end, though it used to be a bit weird when the baby started moving in the middle of it Hmm

Snook99 · 18/06/2014 08:48

Hahahaa in sure that does help mrssantithetic!

And I guess it is kinda insensitive but I kind of understand, like trying to mentally keep baby and sex separate if that make sense??? (Even thought babies come from sex) and cowboy and spoons are all we have been doing for the last month ish (getting very bored!!) lol
And he is over the moon about being a first time daddy and is brilliant at helping and looking after me!

I'm 38+6 and can only tolerate from behind now.

Mrsantithetic · 18/06/2014 13:18

I had sex to conceive dd now 20 mo dtd twice whilst pregnant with her.

Dtd ONCE since dd was born and immediately for pregnant with dc2 and never had it since!

In fairness. I really dislike dp during the early months and too knackered the last few. Poor us.

thebestnameshavegone · 18/06/2014 13:39

yep, 33wks here and from behind is as much as I can manage. I could go on top for a while after the bump got too big for missionary but now I can't be arsed to move too much!!!

RoseberryTopping · 18/06/2014 13:40

Same as mummy, behind is the only possible way now at nearly 40 weeks.
At your stage I really enjoyed cowgirl.

Honeybear30 · 18/06/2014 17:07

I'm 26 weeks and missionary is definitely getting uncomfortable. On top for me now, or from behind. Can I hijack thread slightly and ask if anyone gets bump pain after dtd? It's like all the muscles are pulled and it hurts a fair bit. It's putting me right off!

Snook99 · 18/06/2014 17:43

Yea crack on honeybear! So I'm thinking overall it's cowgirl, anythings got to be better than his attempt lol one of those convos that you need to plan what to say before the convo comes up! Or would end in either of us getting our feelings hurt (even though we are much more of a "banter" couple) so thank you for advise saved me the awkwardness of the convo :D x

I get what you mean about cow girl getting a bit boring though...one we found works is on the stairs? Without getting too graphic, I find that being higher up than him and able to lean back with support gets the bump out the way. Could be worth a try for something different! If you're not great at those conversations I'm not sure how you would suggest this though lol.

SqutterNutBaush · 18/06/2014 18:14

DP on the floor whilst I snuggle comfy in the duvet works for me :o

But if you feel the need to interact with each other lying at the edge of the bed with legs dangling and DP kneeling in between worked for us lol

ohthegoats · 18/06/2014 19:08

Yes to bump pain - stomach muscles I assume. Even in the early days of having a bump, it would go really hard after orgasm.

Anyway, 'missionary' with him kneeling back holding my legs up - probably not called missionary, me on top forwards or backwards, me on top feet on the bed with him doing the moving upwards (good for squat practice!)... that's sort of it really. We have issue with doggy due to height difference/leg length difference - I end up getting pushed over on my tummy, which doesn't work at the moment (25+3).

DeathMetalWifey · 18/06/2014 21:44

Side on from behind... Or lying on top from behind ;) it's a bit mean of him to be put off by it tho, if my partner said that to me he wouldn't be getting any humps at all!
