Technically, the only time you can conceive is the time when the egg is released into the fallopian tube ready to be fertilised, which (if I remember right) is approx a 12 hour period each time you ovulate.

However, sperm live a lot longer than the egg so sperm can be hanging about the fallopian tubes for a few days and then fertilise the egg when it's released.

So, the key time is when you ovulate. Rule of thumb is 14 days before your period would be, but that can vary from woman to woman and from cycle to cycle.

The best bet is sex every couple of days until you're sure you've ovulated. To be absolutely sure you're covered that would be every couple of days until you get your period (or a BFP), but depending on how long it takes you to conceive successfully that can get a bit much...
