Echogenic Intracardiac Foci??

MrsDowneyJunior · 16/06/2014 23:39

At my 20 week scan today I was told my little girl has one of these in her left ventricle.

Anyone got any experience of this, advice, info or anything?

TIA.

"Echogenic focus" just means "something that shows up brightly on ultrasound" and it's not a specific condition, it's just a very vague descriptive term which could mean a number of things. It may be completely harmless. You should ask your ultrasonographer or consultant what they think it means.

Great. Thanks.

Most centres don't even comment on these any more and ignore them completely. Nothing to worry.

Thanks. Well I'm seeing my consultant today so hopefully will get some answers.

I agree with previous poster saying most centres don't comment on these any more. See what the consultant has to say.
