How are you organising hospital bags?

Probably a stupid question but how are you organising your bags?
Are you having one for stuff you'l need in labour then one for after with yours & baby's stuff in? Or is baby getting his / her own bag and your labour and after things sharing?

My brain won't let me work this out for some reason

One for me and one for baby. Ill take a carrier bag for anything that needs to go home (what ive laboured in for example) incase I need to stay in.

Figured therell be stuff I need in labour that ill also needI the ward (snacks and drinks, phone charger).

I had one with labour stuff and immediately needed baby stuff and one with stuff for all of us if we had to stay in. The 2 nd bag stayed in car until I needed it

That sounds really sensible. I recently packed my bag and just put everything into one wheelie suitcase. But, keeping things separate sounds like a really good idea!

Whichever way you do it make sure dh/dp knows where everything is. They'll be the ones getting out baby clothes and anything you want.

I had a bag for me and change bag with stuff in for ds.
I had a pile of stuff out on dresser for ds and me incase I needed more stuff brought in and then DH could easily find it.
I didn't need enough in labour to justify a separate bag. DH also had a rucksack with change of clothes, snacks etc.

I've packed one large bag for me, baby and OH. All my little ones stuff is washed, ironed and packed away in its own compartment. I have an array of crap to keep OH amused (F1 magazines, fully charged iPad, Lego etc) and a change of clothes for him at one side of the bag. As for me I have all my toiletries (breast pads, maternity pads, shampoo etc) but still need to pack a change of clothes. Also stocked up on snacks to pop at the top of my bag once I have all the important stuff in

Carrier bag sounds like a good idea for anything soiled!

Thank you all. You wouldn't think iv actually done this before but have no memory what so ever how I packed last time round. Although I packed during labour so my bags were a bit all over the place lol

You've packed LEGO for your DP?!!!

I'm not sure entertainment for DP is going to be top priority in my hospital bag.

I actually think entertainment for your dp is really worthwhile. There's nothing worse than spending time in labour worrying about them instead of the job in hand. They don't get fed (or much attention at all really). I will definitely be packing entertainment and food supplies to keep my dp going. Also a toothbrush/deo and spare tshirt is a great idea as it's likely to be a long night/day.

He's a big kid at heart! This pregnancy I've had two admissions to hospital, both times he's been really bored. Obviously me and the baby were of concern to him but its not much fun being scrunched up on a tiny hospital chair for hours on end, listening to me moaning. Having him comfortable and entertained will help me relax more. It works at home lol

I meant a can of coke and a magazine. Whatever keeps them relaxed and happy works though :)
