Basically I really think I'm having a boy and I have no idea why
I can imagine myself with a little boy, I look at boys clothes when I'm shopping! I seem to only be able to look at boys stuff !! Even if I try to look at girls stuff I just don't like it. I feel awful and worried how I'm going to react on Wednesday if I'm told its a girl!
I have nieces who I adore, and my friends have little girls who I love and all I care about is that my baby is healthy so why do I feel like this!
Did anyone else feel the same ? Or just have a feeling and were right? I've attached scan photo too

I thought I was having a DS until about around 10 weeks or so then one night I dreamt of a little girls pink pram and I woke up and told DH about the dream and was convinced from then on I was having a DD.

And I was right.

Firstpregnancy2014 · 15/06/2014 21:03

This has made me feel a lot better !! I guess on Wednesday I'll know if my instinct was correct!! I was just worried I was being weird about it all and feel awful when i think that I want a boy when it isn't important to me at all I just have it stuck in my head that it's a boy!

We didn't find out the sex as DH really didn't want to and I wasn't fussed...I just knew it was a girl Smile

cantseemtohaveitall · 15/06/2014 21:14

i had a "feeling" about both my pregnancies - and turns out I was right both times!

jaykay34 · 16/06/2014 05:52

I had a really strong feeling my little one was a boy and was also drawn to looking at boys clothes etc. I know this is awful...but I was soq sure yhat I said to a few close friends that I was so sure he was a boy and my mind was so geared that way that I would be disappoined if he was a girl !!

The day before my 20 week scan I was saying all this to my mum and my mum said that she had thought me and my sister were boys so gut instinct isn't anything to go by.

However - the scan showed I was indeed having a boy. And I've had another scan since and he is definitely a boy !!!

My older children are girl/boy twins and I never had any real instinct with them - but this one...I just knew.

This is my 3rd pg but the furthest I've ever got. I. Was convinced it was a boy at first and we'd been mainly working on boys names. I had been told because my sickness was so bad it was probably a girl but dismissed that as to me I felt the same every time. I was drawn mainly to unisex stuff too but mil had been buying girls things from the start. A private scan told us she's a girl and she has a girlie face and we're working on girls names but I'm still not totally convinced! Not that I mind either way.

Bumpforme2014 · 16/06/2014 07:09

I was exactly the same, always imagined a boy looked only at boys clothes, called it him, told everyone it was a boy and found out few weeks ago it's a girl. Felt very shocked, slightly disappointed and embarrassed. Quickly got used to it though and I'm over the moon now, it's amazing when you see your little one onscreen and hear everything is okay how you instantly love them. I would say don't trust your instincts you never know!

amy246 · 16/06/2014 08:31

I totally knew it was going to be a boy and everyone else did as well, and we were right! If they had said it was a girl I wouldn't have believed them!

Swoosg · 16/06/2014 08:31

I knew I was having a boy from the start... Absolutely 100% knew.... Had a girl.

As a friend said to me, you have a 50% chance of being proved right. If you are, then you'll believe your special feeling was infallible mother's intuition. If you're wrong, you'll realise your feelings were just feelings, and were not based on anything real.

Cerealaddict · 16/06/2014 10:00

I could only imagine myself with a boy, when breaking news to folks (in my head) all i could picture myself saying was "it's a boy" and i even had dreams about that we didn't know and when born i turn to my dh and said "haha it's a boy! you thought it would be a girl," but i think cause i really wanted a boy i geared myself up for bump being a girl but my gut feeling in the end was correct and it wasn't just that that's what i wanted. Well from the private gender scan we had to have after 20wk scan couldn't tell us he is showing all the signs of being a boy and heart rate since then is boy range.

mewkins · 16/06/2014 20:29

I was certain dc was a boy. We even bought slightly blue stuff! Everyone told me I was carrying a boy. Wrong!!!!
This time around I have no idea what I'm having and couldn't hazard a guess. (Dd thinks she is having a sister though). Will find out next week!

lolee777 · 16/06/2014 22:08

I was like you in that I was attracted to boys clothes, always thought about boys names and could picture myself and dp with a son but at night I dreamt I had a girl. All my dreams involved a daughter. I found out a few weeks ago that we are expecting a girl!

eepie · 17/06/2014 09:24

I felt the same - had a very strong feeling it was a girl... Imagined myself with girl baby, only liked girl names, couldn't think of any boy names I liked, same with clothes. DH felt the same. At 20 week scan they told us she was a girl ! We were over the moon but it was like they told us something we already knew. And now I'm 38 weeks and do have a slightly worry now if they / I was wrong... Usually your instincts are correct !

Dollybird86 · 17/06/2014 09:28

I thought at about 6/8weeks that I was having a girl panicked slightly just before my 20 week scan but it was a girl!

redexpat · 02/07/2014 17:40

Am reporting back. Maternal instinct is total bollocks and im having a little girl Smile

randdom · 02/07/2014 18:57

I'm not sure I really believe that you can know what you are having. However when I was pregnant I did have a general feeling that it was a boy. I wouldn't say I was by any means convinced though. We didn't find out what we were having but 3 weeks ago our little boy was born.

mampam · 02/07/2014 19:15

I have been wrong 3 times!! Grin I'm pregnant with DC4, am not going to find out the sex at the anomaly scan in Friday and am not going to even try and guess whether it's a boy or a girl with my track record Smile

angeltattoo · 02/07/2014 19:21

Congratulations redexpat.

I tend to get a strong feeling for other people and am usually right.

I think I thought DD was a girl, but geared myself up to hear 'boy' at scan. This one, I have no idea. I'm only 7 weeks though Grin

LittlePink · 02/07/2014 20:41

Im convinced this one is a boy. I will be really surprised if its not. I wont mind either way though. I have a girl already so in a way it would be easier because we have all the girl things but my dad died just over 12 weeks ago and im 13 weeks pregnant now and i have heard that as one member of the family passes away, one of the same gender is often born soon after into a family. Don't know if its true or not. We'll see!

beccajoh · 02/07/2014 20:44

Yes I had a feeling both times and was right both times (I have one of each). Prob just coincidence but I like to think it was some kind of intuition!
