Hi there. I'm 39+1 and although I'm really excited to meet my baby and also getting fed up of the tiredness leg cramps etc, I suddenly just felt an overwhelming feeling of sadness and shock that my pregnancy will soon be over. Now I'm sitting here feeling panicky about losing my bump, what's going on?! Anyone else experienced feeling like this?

I loved being pregnant. DC2 is my last baby and she's 3 weeks old. I'm so sad I'll never feel a baby kick inside me again, I'm really jealous of my friends who are yet to have their babies. So no, you're not alone!

It's an identity thing. The strangest part is when you've had the baby and are out without it. Nobody comments on your bump because you don't have one and nobody coos at your baby because it's not with you. It's a bit like being anonymous. Not unpleasant but odd!

For the first couple of days after DC1 was born I really missed (heading towards mourned) my bump - I would pat it and when I didn't get a wriggle back I wanted to cry. I was more prepared for it when DC2 was born. Also, I didn't ever get fed up with pregnancy as many do, which I'd always assumed that was an essential stage to reach in order to make labour an attractive prospect!

And all the best to you and your new baby, when he/she arrives
