Third trimester over doing it, am abit worried

Im 36 weeks pregnant and in the middle of moving house. We only have 4 days to move in unless we want to pay another months rent on our old property. It is a council house which I am extremely grateful for but it was very dirty. I have been there about 6 hours yesterday and am 14 hours today cleaning and scrubbing it to try and get it clean enough to move into and for my ds1 and the new baby. Now im home iv got a few pains in my tummy and am a bit worried about breathing in the chemicals from cleaning. I had to scrub the floors/walls/skirting etc and just worried iv harmed the baby in some way. Just looking for reassurance/advice

dare I ask why hubby isn't helping? I work for a local authority and get how gross some people think its acceptable to leave their tenancies in BUT you are 36 weeks pregnant and need to look after you and baby. can you not do a room at a time, get moved in and keep cleaning?

If you can now is the time for friends/family/partner to be helping. See if anyone around is free for an hour or so...I would be likely to be like you and try and manage myself but at 36 weeks know how quickly can get very tired...you will end up stuck in bed if you over do it. Good luck x

Oh and doubt chemicals will have harmed but any changes in movement etc get checked up ad matter of routine anyway!

I doubt it will harm the baby in any way but YOU must be knackered!! Poor thing I agree with the others, get someone to help.

Hubby is at work, he works very long hours and we got the house at very short notice so he couldn't take any time of work. I couldn't move in and then clean as it was so filthy. I wouldn't like the thought of my ds1 being around all the dirt. The people before had ALOT of animals and it didn't look like they had ever cleaned the house. My ds1 is disabled so its really difficult as I can only leave him with hubby or my mum and hubby is at work and my mum has been on babysitting duty which only leaves me- all my other family live abroad! Plus having a c section in 2 weeks so need to get it all done before as wont be able to do much afterwards. Its all cleaned now and hubby and my dad are there today laying carpet and decorating all ready to move in tomorrow :) was just worrying about baby as had a few aches and pains and not as much movement but other than feeling completely exhausted feel a lot better today.

Polka also when you are very busy/stressed/hot your body feels the baby less, that's a known fact which several HCP have told me. If you are worried today, have a lie down and an ice cold drink, you should feel some movement within a couple of hours to reassure you (but of course call the mW if you are worried).

I know how you feel op I'm 37 weeks and we are still in the middle of being decorated, it's my first week of maternity and all I've done is clean and sort out I'm nackered! I get twingy too I think it's your body's way of saying slow down but when I get to the end of the day I do worry I've over done it I just want everything right though. Like you I'm probably having a section as baby is still breech so know I won't be able to do much afterwards, my dh is helpful but they don't understand the need to get it all done like now! Think I'm taking nesting to a whole new level :)
