Just are goats cheese in a cooked risotto ball....please tell me this is ok?? I didn't realise goats cheese was a major no no and thought cheese was ok if cooked.....! Sh*t!!! I can't believe I've been careful all this time and now might've screwed up..... Does anyone know how bad this is or am I panicking over nothing?

It is fine cooked so stop worrying

IsletsOfLangerhans · 13/06/2014 13:54

If it was cooked and piping hot then it should be fine as any bacteria would be killed.

www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/2684.aspx?CategoryID=54&SubCategoryID=216- only some goats cheese is not ok and even then it is ok cooked

You're worrying over nothing.

TwigletFiend · 13/06/2014 13:56

It's fine if cooked. Don't panic!

MrsCosmopilite · 13/06/2014 13:57

I ate it throughout my pregnancy and was fine.

Thank you ladies! Just gave myself a bit of a fright when googling goats cheese.

Step away from Google! Smile

eurochick · 13/06/2014 15:17

It's fine if cooked. I'm intolerant to cow's milk and have had goats cheese (the hard stuff or cooked soft stuff) throughout.

Everything that is in supermarkets is pretty safe...

If I fancy mozzarella I have mozzarella, if I fancy goat's cheese I have that too...

what they should have said on google is that you should steer clear from foods that are being sold on markets or buffet foods as these may not be stored in optimal conditions or pasteurised.

hubbahubster · 13/06/2014 16:32

FFS. It's cheese. Chillax ;)
