34 weeks and breech - anyone else?

Found out at my midwife appointment (and confirmed by a scan) that DD2 is breech. I'm 34 weeks on Saturday. I've been on the spinning babies website, doing exercises and off to see a chiropractor tomorrow. MW wasn't overly concerned and said as she's my second DC there's plenty of space for her to move. And time. But she seems to have made herself very comfy in my pelvis (damn those deep squats at prenatal yoga!). I'm fine with a CS in many ways - and would rather have a planned one than an emergency - but still hoping we'll get her to turn.

Anyone else in, or been in, the same boat?

My DS was breech right from 28 weeks and never budged. I had an unsuccessful ECV at 37 weeks and then a lovely ELCS at 39 weeks.

I was beside myself that I wasn't able to give natural birth a go and felt "robbed" ...that is, until I had him. And then I realised that his method of birth was totally unimportant compared to his and my medical safety. My c sec was wonderful, the theatre team made us feel so special and I will remember it find my forever. The recovery was a breeze and I'm still EBF now 13 weeks later.

Good luck on the rest of your pregnancy. Statistically your baby will turn, but if it doesn't then it's fine! I wouldn't recommend an ECV though - mine was horrific.

I was told yesterday my baby is likely breech at 36w am having scan next week, I am planning a csection anyway so not too worried about it. He was breech at 28w and 30w but turned at 34w but obviously moved back inbetween times. Hopefully yours may do the same

My baby has been breech since about 26 weeks they kept saying there's plenty of time to turns I'm now 37 weeks and she's still breech I'm not going to have an ecv I see the consultant next week and will be booked in for a section then, I just knew all along the baby wouldn't turn I've tried going on all fours with my bum in the air etc but nothing has worked she must be just too comfy :)

Thanks for the replies everyone. I had a chiropractor appt today and she did the Webster technique which apparently needs 3-4 appts to work. We will see!

I think sometimes babies are breech for a reason. Try not to worry too much. A healthy baby is a great outcome whether it's a lscs or normal birth.

Mine was till 36 weeks, she was my 4th so something to do with space and rubbish stomach muscles. She flipped herself round whilst I was driving not a fun experience and all was good.

I had a breech and she turned out to be footling. had her by (technically emergency) c-section after I went into labour at 37 weeks. I don't hold it against her though. Grin

still bf at 9mo if that's a worry for you and still bf dd1 at over 2yo - she was a c sec too but not breech.
