Hi, I'm a teacher and a child in my class has got chicken pox. How dangerous is it for a pregnant woman? I'm waiting from a call back from the doctor. Scared x

If you've had chicken pox yourself you should be immune as far as I'm aware. I think you can have a blood test to check immunity.

Also think more risky in first trimester? Best to get blood test just incase-call gp and book with nurse x

My doc just called and said that if I had it as a child I'm immunised for life. If I did get it I would have to go in for antiviral medication. Phew x
