I am very upset right now. I was always sensitive about comments about my look. I am 20 weeks pregnant and I am not overweight at all. Today decided to treat myself 2with a new dress and in the shop there was this woman who asked me how many month I am , when I said 5 she was like "What? Is it twins? I can believe you are just 5 month. You are so big. Are you sure its just 5, etc etc.". I went out of shop crying and feeling like a monster. husband just called me unreasonable and immature, but I cant stop being massively upset.

I agree with all of the above posters. Ignore everyone who comments on the size of your bump. As long as your midwife is happy then don't worry. I am 27+5 and I swear that my bump sticks out more at certain times because of where the baby is!

I like the comebacks for all of these upsetting comments, you should try asking that terrible lady in the shop where she did her midwifery qualification and when exactly did she measure your bump without you noticing!! Stupid Woman.

And as for crying hurting baby, baby will be just fine. If crying pregnant women hurt their baby....then blimey, we'd all be in trouble. Grin I cried the other day because I wanted an ice cream and was too hot and tired to walk to the shop.

You are doing great, growing a person is hard work. Smile

People seem to think its obligatory to comment on your size/ bump/weight/swollen feet when you are pregnant and
I found other women are the worst! At 21 weeks pregnant my colleague (an obstetrician) said I had the face of a pre-eclamptic (ie swollen) so I had to say no it's just round coz I've put bit of weight on!
