Twinges from previous cesarean scar - is it normal?!

Jus wondered if there are any ladies out there pregnant after a cesarean? I get the odd twinge from my scar. Not all the time - I think just when there's a bit of a growth spurt happening. They're not particularly painful but I feel it on the inside not the outside and will often notice it if I do a big cough. I'm 32 weeks and have been getting this on and off all the way through pregnancy but never had any trouble before.

I've done a bit of googling and there's not much about it, except that if you feel the pain during labour your scar might be rupturing Hmm

Are other ladies in the same boat were experiencing the same thing or just me?? Thanks.

I haven't had twinges right at the scar but I've had muscle cramps just above it - in my lower abdomen. I am worried that I don't have much strength in those muscles, and concerned about what will happen to them when they are stretched even more later on.

Have you decided to try for a 'VBAC'?

How long ago was your CS?

For a long time after mine i got twinges in my scar, I can't remember exactly how long for, but at least a year as far as I can remember.

My CS was nearly 4 years ago and I'm 36 weeks pregnant. I've noticed scar pain. But I have felt 'heavy' down there, but I've put that down to having weaker tummy muscles now!

Have you mentioned it to your midwife / consultant? Are you aiming for VBAC or CS?

That should say, NOT noticed scar pain.

Yes, I've had 4 sections and each baby was born 19-22 months after the previous section. I did have lots of scar pain. I could be wrong, but I think it is when it is burning pain that it is not a good thing. Do check with your midwife though...

I'm 2.5 years on from my final c section and I still get the odd twinges of scar pain!

Glad it's not just me! Yes am going for VBAC. I mentioned it to the midwife at the last appt and she said I was right to mention it and to let someone know if it got worse but she didn't seem too concerned ANC didn't write it on my notes so I'm assuming it can't be very significant..

The scar rupture thing is obviously very rare but I've got the sense with every health professional I've dealt with in this pregnancy that it's something they're very scared of!

Scar rupture is rare, but obviously serious. Forgive me if I give an inaccurate stat, but as far as I remember it's 0.5% / 1 in 200. That's during labour. That's why they recommend continuous monitoring to pick up any potential problems.
