The past day or so my bump has felt different and movements have changed. I'm still getting plenty of movement but instead of little poky feet kicks in my ribs it feels like there's more solidness up top iykwim, almost like a head bobbing near my ribs. I am getting some kicks down low but I suppose that could be his hands maybe?

I don't have another appointment until the 20th when I'll be 40 weeks, do you think I'm ok to wait till then or should I see if I can be seen earlier? I'm worried that I'm just being paranoid.

I'm 34 weeks and have had that solid feeling for weeks and know thanks to scans that baby is head down so assuming it's his bum? It feels like a wee tiny bum when I stroke it anyway Grin .

I feel fluttery kicks down low which is presumably his hands.

You might be the same?

My DS was breech all the way til birth (by ELCS) & the only way I can describe it is that it felt like I was being kicked hard, downwards right into my bum/fanjo & sometimes it bloody hurt! Towards the end it felt like his feet were going to come out when he kicked me. I also had a large solid mass at the top of my bump, and it would move from side to side, presumably this was him turning his head.

Could it just be that baby is getting more squashed as it gets bigger, so feels more solid iyswim, or that it has dropped a bit?

If you are at all concerned, call the midwife & she will put your mind at rest or arrange a check/scan if necessary.

The down low kicks aren't very fluttery, they can be proper digs in my pelvis, quite painful tbh. But then I'm also getting kicks up high as well. It's so hard to tell, wish you could make your stomach see through sometimes to have a little peep!

I'm at the labour ward tour this week, do you think I could ask someone to check there?

FWIW I never ever got any kicks in the ribs, or anything even remotely high up - it was ALL down! So perhaps that is a good sign that baby may in fact be the right way.

Definitely worth asking, but you may be best speaking to your own midwife as I imagine it'll be them who would have to refer you if necessary.

Good luck!
