Morning sickness (actually all day sickness...) virtually disappeared at 6.5 weeks - vitamin b6 miracle?or bad sign?

I had dreadful all day sickness for 20 weeks with DS1. Now 6.5 weeks with dc2. Have been v unwell for the last week - mostly bed bound and having to nibble pretzels all day and night to stop throwing up. Taking cyclizine which was helping a bit but not much. Over past couple of days I upped my vitamin B6 to 50 mgs three times a day. Otherwise I haven't done anything different. I feel dramatically better. Part of me is thrilled as I feel like myself again, going to take DS to nursery this morning etc. however also v worried that this might actually be the start of it all going wrong. If anyone has had a similar experience I would be very grateful to hear about it. Thanks in advance.

It can vary wildly.

I have had MS with losses, and with my (currently at 26 weeks) pregnancy it came and went (right old pain... yum yum I can eat again for a few days, then bam a terrible one) - so try not to worry. :)

Every week is drastically different for me!!

Week 6 I was beyond exhausted, getting home from work at 6 and lying in bed for 2hrs before I could think of moving.

Week 7 tiredness eased but I was miserable!!

Week 8 sick sick sick

Week 9 (now) nothing.

I assume it's normal!! As long as you look after yourself, get your 5 a day, and sleep well then you are doing your bit! X

thanks for the replies. Anyone else had any experience with vitamin B6?

I've only just started taking it (about three days ago), but just 10mg a day. I've noticed I haven't felt queasy until MUCH later in the day (but then again I am only between weeks 5-6!)

I've been taking since before we conceived to help with a short LP.
I'm now almost 9 weeks and nausea and sickness are just as bad as they were with DD.
I'm living on rich tea biscuits, frutellas and crackers!
I'm a teacher so it's hard during the day but I keep telling myself it's a good sign...

lighteningmcmama · 10/06/2014 20:45

Agree with AMI88 it varies week by week. I took it, felt better for a week, then felt worse again. Had a healthy dd at the end of it.

I'm back to feeling sick all day, and tiredness that kicks in at 2pm!

Trying not to complain...I know I haven't had it as bad as some...although suffering from hayfever during the first trimester seems especially cruel to me!

I found vitamin B6 to be a miracle! Pretty much stopped feeling like utter sh*te all the time. It's all I recommend now.

beccajoh · 13/06/2014 15:43

I remember reading good things about B6 when I was pregnant with DD. I did take it but had to stop because taking the tablets made me vom!

AMI88 · 13/06/2014 16:55

I need a trip to holland & Barretts! B6 is on the list, do you take 50 or 100g?

lljkk · 13/06/2014 16:56

B6 helped me, too.

SarahF77 · 13/06/2014 17:34

I'm taking 50mgs 3 times a day. Up and down a bit but still much improved generally I'd say. Able to do more normal stuff, whereas before was basically moving from sofa to bed and back again. Glad it's helping others too.
