15 weeks... when does it get better??

Hi all,

I am 15 weeks today and still waiting for the second trimester energy ligt, glow etc etc. I'm still violently vomiting bile every morning and feeling absolutely shattered from about 3pm onwards. And eating a lot of shit as all I can tolerate are bland carbs, even the sight of brocolli makes me heave.

Please tell me either (a) it will end soon today or (b) the law of the Universe dictates that I will have a dream baby that sleeps through from day one.

Help! I can't handle another 25 weeks of this ...

I'm the exact same ! 15+3, still sick everyday, strong smell aversions, no cravings which allow me an excuse to eat all the crap I've been eating , bad skin, absolutely shatterd in the afternoons at work !
All the people that told me I'd feel amazing at 12 weeks are currently in my bad books.

Firstpregnancy2014 · 08/06/2014 22:56

Oh and the worst bit- I'm at that fat stage
People who don't know I'm pregnant probably think I'm getting chubby
People who know I'm pregnant like to tell me I'm growing!
Should I be lying and saying how beautiful my pregnancy experience has been so far?

Poor you First it sucks doesn't it! I have a massive grudge against everyone whose sickness wore off at 12 weeks/everyone with easy pregnancies.

I had lunch with a friend who is 25 weeks on Saturday - she hasn't been sick at all, boobs haven't got bigger, still been doing spin classes at the gym, only just bought her first pair of maternity jeans. The most exercise I have done in the last 3 months is walking the dog, I have been living on white bread and potatoes, I have been in maternity jeans since 12 weeks Sad What's worse, we were the same size pre-pregnancy... arrrrgggghhhhh

Oh its yuk I know. My nausea did go bout 16 weeks but got bloody heartburn 24/7 now : /
I am still very odd with my food too , what is it with broccoli ? Lol
I just eat what I feel like tbh and that is whatever doesnt set hb off so lots of plain white bland :(
There is a thread for the majority of us who can honestly say pregnancy is not all about the magical bloody glow!!!!

Firstpregnancy2014 · 08/06/2014 23:04

I think I could have written everything you've just said!
I'm hoping it ends soon and I wake up one morning with a beautiful glow, a perfectly proportioned bump and an appetite for super healthy food!
Untill then.. I will moan and be resentful ! Hope you feel better soon x

I have whinged constantly to friends who already have babies and they have said that there is always a trade off - awful pregnancy means easy delivery and/or easy baby. Crossing fingers & toes they are right! Hope you all feel better soon too!!

I was similar. The second tri energy burst started about a week before the end of the second tri for me! The nausea and aversions gradually tailed off. I stopped gagging when brushing my teeth at about 19 weeks. And I have this weekend had my first red meat since Xmas time (at 28 weeks).

I feel great now! But I'm wondering how long it will last before my sheer size takes over and makes me feel rubbish again, particularly in this heat. So I'm making the most of it while I can.

I feel for you, I was sick almost every day till 16 weeks, off food literally going to the supermarket would make me want to vomit ha. I'm 20 weeks now and feel so much better xx I actually can't stop eating lol

I am glad that you both came out of it eventually, there is hope!

I tried to have a slightly more healthy breakfast option today. Usually I have a cinnamon bagel drowned in butter but instead had low fat yoghurt with some granola on top. I felt like hell until I grabbed an emergency brioche mid-morning. When I go without stodgey carbs I feel like a heroin addict going cold turkey. (Well you know, how I imagine one must feel, having not been through it mysefl!)

16 weeks was my rock bottom; it all picked up after that and I probably felt my best around 28 weeks. At 30 I'm starting to feel a bit uncomfortable and hot now, but it still beats the first 16 weeks. Hang on in there!
