Sharp shooting pains

I'm 37+2 and last night I got sharp shooting pains going up my vagina, this is baby number 4 and have never experienced this, anyone else get this? Thanks x

I used to get this when walking when heavily pregnant with dc 3
Think it might have been from her head rubbing possibly?

Yes that's what I'm thinking Busy, I was reading in bed at the time and it made me gasp lol.

I used to get it on the school run. And having to try not to look like I was going into labour was hard!

It is theborrower, had one waiting at the icecream van but not as ouchy as last nights x

I've had this loads over the last few weeks. Midwife says it's my cervix starting to open up - and I am 3-4cm dilated now, so I'm guessing she's right.

darkside Ooo really? I'm 36 weeks, is that good or bad (ie does it indicate labour in any kind of timeframe?)

Really really Sadly it doesn't seem to have indicated anything very much: I'm now 39+2, have been in early labour as confirmed by the hospital since early on Wednesday, and there's STILL no further sign of DD!!

darkside have you had any other signs of labour? Hope it all goes smoothly for you - you must be getting impatient!

I've had these too however my little one is breech and am booked in for c sectionon18th so hope she stays put till then!! X

Iv been having this for the past few days. It's so sore isn't it? I'm only 35 weeks hope it's not the start of early labour ? Iv also had some light cramps should I call my midwife do you think?

I had this right at the end of my pregnancy with dc1. Everyone said it was nothing & was actually an infection. They only took me seriously when I had a raging temperature after giving birth. Probably is nothing but I would get it checked out.

I've had this in this pregnancy (im 39 weeks and have had it since 34). MW told me it was the head settling into my pelvis.
Don't think it ir period cramps are anything to worry about at this stage but it's definitely embarrassing when you're standing in asda picking cereal and you yelp :)

Yes! Glad it's not just me, I'm 38 weeks and have been getting these odd sharp pains the last week or so, made me yelp on a couple of occasions! Also getting lots of strong braxton hicks so hoping it's the start of something (she will probably be 2 weeks late now I've said that)!!

Well nothing here, she's still keeping me waiting, 39 weeks today, the braxtons have slowed right down, and I keep thinking calm before the storm? But nope :-(
