Can anyone explain to me what it means when the baby is on the 100th centile. All I can get from my midwife is a snigger & "um big". Thanks but not that helpful to a first timer....

My DS was on the 98th when he was born and was 9lbs 13ozs if that helps [smiles]

Prebirth estimates are notoriously unreliable though.

i agree with lizs my midwife estimated late 6 pound but my baby girl was born 7lbs 6ozs so don't worry too much

DD was on the 100th centile and she was 10lbs 10 oz.
Don't let the cow midwife snigger - that is mean ... There are loads of people out there that had problem free births with big babies ... so don't worry ...

Thanks. Was told at one of the growth scans I was having a right little porker!!!!Damn cheek. Have taken back newborn clothes & got size up though!
