Hello, im 28 weeks pregnant with second child. Had quite a difficult pregnancy so far, been back and too to hospital had 4 or 5 bleeds. never really found out why, just been told it happens sometimes. For the past week and a half been havin really strong like period pains, been looking online and it says you shouldnt be able to time them but I can, having them every few minutes, then they go for a few hours but they then come back. Dont really wanna phone labour ward cos ive been there so many times so far they think im paranoid! Does anyone know if this is normal??

You should phone your midwife now and go in to be checked. No point in messing around in these situations - don't procrastinate, phone now. I'm sure all is fine but better safe than sorry.

(They always said to me they would rather see 100 women to tell them that everything is fine than have 1 not go when they really needed to)

Definitely get it checked out. I was in the emergency room this morning (21 weeks) because some of my plug came away last night and I was having pains all morning (they've gone now!). Everything was fine. I felt like a fool and a timewaster given they also had a serious emergency on, but it is ALWAYS better to get checked.

I personally know of mums whose babies' lives (and their own) have been saved by going in to get something that appeared relatively minor checked out. In most cases it is always fine though!

I had unexplained bleeds in my previous pregnancy (baby was always fine, it was just my body acting bizarrely!) and they were always ALWAYS happy for me to come in.
