Silly question probably, but anyway... My mw is available once a week at surgery. Should I book my 16 week appointment for when I'll be 15+5 or 16+5?
Thanks

At my booking appointment, my mw asked me to book after 16 weeks, rather than before, so I'll be seeing her at 17+3 as I'm on holiday at 16 weeks. In my area they listen for the heart beat at 16 weeks, and as this can be tricky before you hit 16, they prefer to see you slightly after, but I don't think this is the case everywhere.

Either Op. It's not like the scans. It's more of a general check up so either week would be fine.

Thanks. I think my mw will listen to heart beat; I guess being a day or two early shouldn't affect whether she will try?

It shouldn't affect the heart beat. My MW did it just before 16 weeks. Just be aware that not all trusts listen to heart beat at 16 weeks because they don't want to panic new mums because they can't always find it at that age..

Good luck Op.. Smile
