Hi, I am 14 weeks today with my first pregnancy. I was 9st 13 before I found out I was pregnant but I am already 10st 7! Getting worried that I am piling it on but last few weeks have included lots of junk food and meals out (too many social events!) so thinking of joining slimming world to control weight. Anyone else feeling the same? I have seen a thread recently where lots of people were losing loads of weight in first trimester so feeling a bit 'fat'. Argh!

Hellooo!
I am so SO hungry!!! Currently 9 weeks PG, starting weight was 10st 4 now 10st 11 so I have put on the same as you in 3 weeks less than you if it makes you feel better?? Smile I am hoping it slows down after the first trimester, but I put on a lot of weight in my first pregnancy (and lost it no bother afterwards btw). I am feeling very "who ate all the pies" but when the proper bump comes that feeling goes for a while. You are not alone!

I am also 14 weeks and I hear you. My bum is already sagging. It has NEVER sagged before!

I have put on about 7kg....

I am 40 weeks and hav put on about 3 stone (or more) I was starving for the first trimester and stopped running.

im not too worried, it will come off after.

I've just eaten the most delicious cream cake and worryingly don't feel guilty! My will power when it comes to food has disappeared a bit since being pregnant. As long as we don't eat too many cakes Blush then I wouldn't worry about gaining weight, it's normal and you need extra fat stores particularly if you'll be breastfeeding. :)

I've put on about 12kg in 28 weeks. I feel very sad about it but still can't stop eating icecream...! And now I'm entering the bit where I'm supposed to start putting on weight. Eep!

I couldn't stop eating in the first trimester - gained double the recommended from trying to control the nausea by eating carbs. In the second trimester, I'm not eating as much (as I get full quickly) and I think some of the fat I gained before has gone. I've never weighed myself, but I certainly feel in better shape than at the end of the first trimester - bump and boobs aside.

I was panicking, but if there's something MN has made me realise, everyone's experience of pregnancy and is different and I don't think there is a 'normal'.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your comments. Sat here eating chocolate digestives as my nausea is back!

I gained 100 pounds with my first pregnancy trust me do what you can to stop the bad habit of eating junk trust me i know its hard but you will regret it after especially if you get gest diabetes

Hazchem · 03/06/2014 02:31

I'm struggling with this. Everyday I tell myself I will be different but then opps all the food is in my mouth.

I was about to say how I;m going to start being better about it next week but it's a freaking cop out! I am however making sure I walk more oh and I squat. I do deep squats.

Gennz · 03/06/2014 03:12

I've put on 6.5kg and am 14 weeks today. I've eaten loads of carbs to try to curb the nausea but I think it's fluid as well - my boobs shot up a back size & a cup size at 6 weeks and since then have got so dense and heavy - they are like cannonballs (lovely). I'm the heaviest I've ever been by about 3 kgs, but I don't feel as fat as I have when I've been heavy previously - e.g. still have a waist, arms feel normal - it's mainly thighs, boobs and a bit of a tummy popping out.

Hopefully the rate of gain slows in the second trimester! Hopefully the nausea will subside and I can face eating vegetables again...

I put on about 8-9lbs in the first few WEEKS, then by 14 weeks I put on about a stone in total. Since then, my weight has been stable and despite getting a massive bump now at 24 weeks, I've not put any more weight on. I think the first 14 weeks were water and bloat and now my body has levelled itself out.

She says having just had a second breakfast....
