Ok I'm 28 weeks tomorrow and for the past 3 weeks ivehad leakage clear from my nipples, my left boob hurts like hell like I've been kicked in it repeatedly, is this normal, I didn't really make much milk last pregnancy and son really wasn't interested, so can I really be starting now, shall I stimulate or leave it alone! I want to breastfeed this time if dd is interested but as I'm having a c section with pain killers can I try or will it pass over to milk? Soz for questions I'm a bit confused

There's a breastfeeding board on feed thecworld. I'd wonder if you could have a blocked duct but don't know enough.

I wouldn't stimulate, but you can get breast shields that collect leakage.

I'm on the breadt pads but still find it a tad embarassing esp when I'm not wearing them and have leaked through, my mum a ex farmer said bet its mastitis I only thought cows get that

Do go and get it checked, it could be mastitis. A poorly fitting bra, can cause issues too. If it is mastitis, it needs sorting as you do not want it turning into an abcess.

Regarding c-section and milk, the amount of painkiller that reaches the milk will be minimal, and you can let them know you are planning breastfeeding, and get them to help. Plenty of women successfully breastfeed after a section, but help is needed.

Hope you get the pain sorted soon.

I had an ELCS just over a week ago and have BF DC2 from birth with no problems. And I couldn't BF DC1 so it's been a lovely surprise ;) the hospital staff will still encourage you to BF ASAP after a section so don't worry about the painkillers.

I wouldn't stimulate your boobs as it could cause early labour. My midwife advised me against this while pg as I'd talked to her about ways to get my milk production going early due to the faff I had with getting DC1 to feed!

If you leak through the disposable breast pads try bamboo ones. I used them with dc2 they are soooo much more absorbent and more comfy too. They seem pricy at about £10 per 10 but they are much cheaper overall because you reuse them
