Heavy bleeding!!

I am ten weeks gone, on Wednesday morning had sex by the night started bleeding light pink blood, informed the midwife and she said it's normal so felt reassured then today Saturday noticed heaving bleeding (bright red) passing blood clots and am now worried:( anyone experienced this or would like to share helpful thoughts? Thank u.

I had the same at 11w6d, I couldn't have a scan that day it was a Sunday, went the next day & they found a heartbeat. My ob/gyn was very conservative & said it wouldn't make much difference what I did but under the same circumstances she'd rest so she didn't feel guilty if she miscarried. I did rest, which was very hard as I had a 14 month old but my son was born at nearly 42 weeks & is now a smelly teenager.

Im sorry you are going through this. I think you need to get seen by a doctor. Unfortunately it does sound like a miscarriage although some people do have heavy bleeding that turns out to be OK. You didn't cause this by having sex, that is just a coincidence. Go to your out of hours doctor tomorrow morning and ask to be referred to the early pregnancy unit of the hospital for a scan, which would probably be on Monday. That is the only way you will know what is going on. If your bleeding becomes very heavy or you have pain that you can't manage with paracetamol then go to the hospital.

I'm sorry to say that bright red blood and clots doesn't sound good. This happened to me at 12 weeks and i miscarried. Speak to the out of hours Dr if you haven't already, they will be able to advise you. Have you got someone with you? If not, see if someone can come and stay. Also get on the mumsnet miscarriage pages, it was a lifeline for us. Btw...i was pregnant again within 6 months and am just a few weeks from being full term. ( i had pink discharge and cramps 2nd time but turned out to be implantation bleed) If it is a miscarriage it will be devastating so look after yourself. I got through it by believing that mother nature knows best and that something wasn't quite right. Thinking of you.

I did ring nurse and she is putting me in for an early scan tomorrow. So nervous, hope it goes well, fingers crossed. The bleeding isn't so heavy today And am not seeing anymore clotting but we shall see.xx
