Hi everyone, I found out I'm pregnant on Thursday, it was a total shock and unexpected. Everyone I've told is very excited, my mom is over the moon. But I'm feeling very unexcited about it all and I don't even feel like myself. I do want the baby but I feel guilty for not being excited about it. What's wrong with me?

I expect it will take a while to sink in, and in the early stages before scans and movements, i suppose it's hard for it to feel real.

You've got a while to get used to it, so go with the flow for now and let your brain catch up with your body!

Congratulations and hope you have a smooth pregnancy.

Oh god nothing! Nothing is wrong with you lovely, that's totally normal, I was planning and trying for over a year and was too hormonal to really be able to get excited so to speak.

I am over the moon obviously, but I've not had a woooo moment or anything eureka like. My hormones have just made me feel blah about everything in general.

Aside from that I've been too sick with first trimester symptoms to have the energy to think about anything else other than getting through the day.

Congratulations! It really is excellent news! I hope you feel a bit better soon to be able to relax and enjoy your pregnancy!

Its totally normal. I didn't feel excited until about 18 weeks when my first bout of sickness wore off lol.

It will happen though!

Congratulations x

Agreed Donkle! Its a massive shock even when its planned, and it does all feel strangely unreal. Your body is going through enough physically already, you don't need to give yourself a hard time for how you feel! Give yourself the time you need to come to terms with it, then get excited about it! Big congrats!! :-)
