I am pregnant in London zone 1 (Bloomsbury) and wondered what other parents' experiences have been of having babies right in the centre of town?

I had my daughter while we were living in Westminster. It was great! Buses and cabs everywhere, loads of parks (I wore tracks into the path of St James's Park!) and I was able to walk to and from hospital appointments. No regrets!

When DS was born we lived very close to the south bank. It was fantastic! Loads of baby activities, museums to visit while he napped in his pram, parks etc. I could walk over to Covent Garden or the City to meet friend on their lunch breaks. He leant to walk at the Barbican and Royal Festival Hall during a cold, wet autumn. It really was a great place to live with a baby and young toddler. I met some wonderful people while on maternity leave too and really got to know my neighbourhood in a way I hadn't before. We were in a flat and he sort of became the buildings baby!

Great! That is so comforting . I have lots of stairs in my flat and nowhere for a buggy which worries me, and no NCT groups in the neighbourhood but love the area. All my friends tell me I have to be sensible and move to suburbia to a house with a garden but I love walking everywhere. The stairs might be a problem though! Thanks for your messages.
