Due date calculation - confused!

Morning all, so Ive recently had my BFP and was trying to work out my due date. I know that you are meant to do this based on the first day of your last period but I cant find anything anywhere about dates for women with longer than average cycles.

I have a 43 day cycle (roughly) due to PCOS and therefore I would be 6 weeks pregnant today, this seems mad given I only ov'd 14 days ago and the first day of my last period was the 17th of April!

Does your due date get adjusted for your cycle length?

Just Google pregnancy calculator..i think there's an nhs one...and yes they do take into account your cycle length. The due date will also be amended at your 12 week scan (mine came forward a week from my calculations).

You can find calculators that will give you your date from ovulation - my cycles were 42 days when I conceived, LMP was in early August but I didn't have a positive OPK until the 9th of September and got my bfp on the 20th that month.

Even if you use the Mumsnet one and enter the length of your cycle you should get something more accurate: Mumsnet EDD calculator

BTW, my EDD was fixed by the hospital at my 20 week scan - most hospital will give it to you based on the 12 week scan, my Trust seems to be the only one that insists 20 weeks is more accurate.

My midwife didn't adjust my EDD for my short cycle. She had it at 5th of June but based on my cycle I thought 31st May.

At 12 week scan they date you based on scan and adjust your due date. Mine was changed to 31st May!!

It doesn't really matter anyway as you could end up having the baby whenever it feels like arriving!
