I'm 37 weeks today and people keep telling me labour is ages away as my bump still looks high. Does it always have to drop before labour?!

Ive been carrying low ever since 30wks, i was worried at one point because he strated to engage at 32, showed all the sign, and i had period type cramps, loadsa braxton hicks, his movement slowed right down! Shit loada pressure i could feel his head :( i spent two days flapping over it lol then at the weekend all the pressure went and he was back to his usual excursions in me tum :) im not to sure if its fact but all the mummies to be ive seen have dropped really low beforehand. My mums had 4 of us, 3 were induced and i was the only one she was aloud to go over with :) she said on the day she woke up and felt weird, then couldnt make up her mind wether she. Needed the loo or it was just tummy ache. She lost her plug and waddled to the shops before her antenatal at the docs. The lady in the shop commented at how much her belly had dropped and that she was going to have me very soon lol she then went to her appmnt and after about 5mins of sitting down waiting to be called, had an almighty pain wich broke her waters.... I was 6days late :) and did it in style lol didnt want to be discreet had to be in public :D

But it also makes you wonder these unfortunate ladies who have there babies really early, do there bumps drop and have any signs :s does your bump look sinked in at the top or round still :) thats usually a sign when labours near as your bump has dropped, and mum aswell as midwifves have told me you cant shut your legs even when you walk or stand as you can feel the head pressing down. Im sure it nothing to worry about really chuck but your midwifes or gp or wherever your gonna give birth are there to help :) i know you feel silly sometimes ringing over the tiniest things but thats a part of being pregnant :p the only reason i waited when i had my lil scare i just mentioned was because my mum said my bumps not low enough but has dropped loads. I think its just cus hes such a chunky monkey and all the weights dragging it down -.- hope you get your answer :) and good luck for when the time comes hehe x
