Not much movement?

I don't know if I'm being super paranoid or if I am justifiably worried? First time mum so have no prior pregnancy knowledge!

I am 26 + 4. Baby has been really rather visibly kicky (moving my tummy when he kicked) for the past 2/3 weeks and jumping all over my bladder. We had a private scan last week and he was facing my back and it took a lot of sugar & starjumps to get him to turn round so we could get a look at him. But heartbeat etc was all fine.

The last few days I have been feeling far, far less movement. If I lie on my back and poke him for a while, gently obviously, he will give a tiny kick but nothing like before.
Do I need to call my midwife or could he still be facing my back (google has told me you feel less movement if they lay like that which makes sense I guess)
Placenta is at the back not front (sorry I don't know the technical term for that!)

If you are worried please go and get checked out...

A family member didn't go as she thought baby had quieter days, well it turned out baby was stressed and because she waited to long the baby passed away at 34 weeks..

So just to be on the safe side go and get checked out. Oh and don't feel bad about going and that you are wasting their time. You are not!

Good luck Grin

My hospital advised me not to really start monitoring until 28 weeks but they also said that if I was worried about anything, I should ring them - so please do that to set your mind at rest Smile

Clearly I have a cheeky baby, as he's now decided to start jumping around again and I've felt some strong kicks (sods law!)

Thank you for your advice though :) if it happens again and he doesn't move, I will deffo get it checked out just to put my mind at rest.
@hartmel, I'm so sorry to hear about your family member, that's awful, I wouldn't wish that on anybody :( x

This growing a person malarkey is scary, The books don't tell you that part!
